Why do I make films about Community Gardens?

Community gardens are for me sites of emancipation, where people may experiment with means of creating an alternative society. This is how I imagine a positive form of “city planning from below.” I wish to recount and disseminate the stories of the gardens, in order to give people the courage not to let these utopias disappear from sight, and to stand up and shape their environments themselves, beyond the confines of formal planning.
